Drupal: mobonobomo base
This site was inspired, if not necessitated, by the fact that I started to post Drupal write-ups. I am calling this collection "Drupal base". I decided against putting the longer posts on drupal.org. While I find the documentation and forums about Drupal very useful, I realize it can be a bit technical for a lot of users.Rather than just tell people how to do something, I figured the best way is for them to try it themselves. Hence this site. I had picked this domain name up a while back, but hadn't figured out a good use for it. I think Drupal is an awesome system, and I wanted to start giving back to the community that created this great tool! Using technology is an excellent way to learn about whatever it is that you are using, but there is undeniable value in reading about what you are using as well. Most tech-oriented people rely on each other to get through any task - the sharing of knowledge and experience is invaluable (not only for tech, but anything in life). Do those internet searches. Be bold. Don't let the machine beat you. Humans have a tendency to want things to work immediately and flawlessly. But if it doesn't work the first time, don't give up because it might be too hard. The reward in the end is most likely working through the problems, and you gain the benefit of learning much more than just the minutiae of the specific task.
Tutorials and walk-thrus for Drupal
As with most things technology-related, if you are not familiar with it, I recommend that you review as much material about whatever it is you are trying to work (first). Then, really the best way to learn how to use something, start actually using it and see what you can do. There is no shame in having the manual next to you when you dive in. You will be amazed at what you are capable of achieving with a small amount of effort!
Drupal sandbox
If you would like to start using Drupal right away, you can do so at this site, the mobonobomo Drupal sandbox. All you need is a valid email address to create an account on the site and you can try your hand at creating content and other functions on Drupal. Just use common sense on the site, and be respectful of other people who might be using it.
Current projects
I have spent more than a decade teaching myself web design and programming, and have completed several projects during this time. My most recent endeavors have involved implementation of the open-source content management system Drupal, for this website as well as sites for others.
